History
Contendre Solar was founded by Mr. Rajesh Gupta and Mr. Rakesh Gupta. They have been instrumental in driving the company's vision of providing high-quality, affordable solar products and solutions, contributing significantly to the renewable energy sector in India. Contendre Solar has an interesting history marked by rapid growth and innovation:
- 2018: The idea of Contendre Group entering the renewable energy sector was conceived, focusing on providing easy access to clean energy
- 2019: Contendre Greenergy Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated, and the Contendre Solar brand was launched. They set up an ISO-certified, state-of-the-art production facility in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra
- 2020: They launched their EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) business vertical and received the "Module Technology Innovation of the Year" award for their 415Wp Solar PV Modules
- 2021: The company expanded its module business, added multiple distributors across India, and introduced a solar PV inverter and battery trading arm. Their modules were also listed in the ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers) by MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy)
- 2022: Contendre Solar expanded its reach to 20 states and 4 Union Territories in India and began international business
- 2024: They plan to establish backward integration by foraying into raw material manufacturing
- 2025: Contendre Greenergy Private Limited aims to achieve MSME listing with a target revenue of 500 Crores and further exploration into other renewable energy sources
